Charming QLD-style cottage, in Dunwich the Perfect base to explore Nth Straddie

"It’s a very nice, cozy, newly renovated cottage. I was expecting two beds and even brought an air mattress for my boy. Surprisingly the hosts set up an additional double bed and it makes stay much more comfortable (thanks to Neil and Linda). The kitchen is nice with full set of kitchenware and we cooked our dinner every night. It’s only 20 mins driving from point of lookout and amity point. We pretty much drive there and play at beach every day. We brought our dog Cooper along and he has already happily claimed the yard as his territory. Linda and Neil did a great job and thanks for hosting us. Hopefully we could come to visit again next year."

"We love Starfish on Straddie. We stay every year and always enjoy our stay. Carolyn is a great host. There is a pod coffee machine that takes Nespresso style pods. Every year we notice work being done on the cottage which is great - from lounge suites, to the little front deck, work is always being done to improve and update. When there is a problem (not that they are big problems - like running out of washing powder) the response is quick. Highly recommend staying here. Our doggie also gives 5 stars."

"the accommodation needs a lot of attention. Whilst this is located centrally on the island and within walking distance to beach and pub the cleanliness of the accomodation was 4/10. For the amount of money you pay you would expect the place to be in a better condition, however, we find this with a lot of the houses on Stradbroke Island, the attention to detail is not there, big cobwebs everywhere, broken slates, missing remote controllers to air con units, sand everywhere."
