"We never got the opportunity to stay in this home…the host cancelled our booking at 17:30 on the day we were due to move in. No communication, we had to chase him for a few hours. Finally at 5pm he rang to say he was on his way to meet us and then half hour later he called to say that he was cancelling our booking due to a water leak… but we didn’t believe what he was telling us. We then had to find alternative accommodation for the rest of the week. Terrible experience from start to finish!"

"Stunning? Stunning what a poor quality place this is. No communication from host. Had to chase to get entry details. Filthy. Hairs on bathroom towel - possibly pubic. Bed not made up. Stains on walls. Bad odour in fridge. Dirty bath mats. Rubbish dumped on street outside, old mattresses, hoover, overflowing bins. Shocking that Expedia advertise this place. Would be overpriced at half the rate we paid. Avoid, avoid, avoid. "

"This semi-disaster of a "newly refurbished house" is the fault of VRBO...for two reasons. First, the property is still in the midst of being refurbished with a list of deficiencies that are too many to mention. Secondly, VRBO forced us to make a snap decision on this property because the host of our previously-booked location cancelled on us just 48 hours before we were arriving in England. VRBO promised to find us a replacement property but then, with less than 24 hours before our arrival in...

"We had this house booked for two stays during the same trip. (In the middle we attended a wedding in the English countryside.) We did not actually stay for this time frame. The house was filthy. From the moment we entered, I texted with the property manager about how dirty it was. The neighborhood is very noisy. There were people screaming all night in the house directly next door. We hardly slept. Avoid at all costs. "

"Great location just off Green Lanes with a bus stop moments away and lots of shops, including supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, within easy reach. The house is large and easily accommodated our party of nine adults. Unfortunately, the standard of cleanliness and basic maintenance was disappointing: cobwebs, grubby paintwork, inside of bathroom cabinets untouched for some time, dirty floor rugs, broken or missing items (bulbs in bedside lights, rail in wardrobe), dead plants. The freezer...
