"Not sure why Salthus is only rated 2 stars but in my opinion is better than 3 stars. Clean, warm comfortable bed and room(twin) with plenty of space. Large accessible shower & toilet room. Parking at door. Fully equipped kitchen although only I only made toast. Wonderful views of sea and mountains. Great walk nearby around sea cliffs. I did not meet any staff as self check in. Only a 15 minute drive from Bluondos. Thoroughly recommended."

"Beautiful location on a quiet lake with horses nearby (and sheep farther away). Room and bathroom were spartan and clean. Large kitchen and supplies to prepare your own meals (which you may want to do since this is fairly isolated)."

"karuna Guesthouse was one of our favorite properties. We were greeted by the owner and shown to our room. They room was SPOTLESS and large with a tea kettle, tv, full bathroom and hairdryer!! They have thought of everything! There is a free breakfast included, and also use of a kitchen. A superbly clean and wonderful place to stay!!"

"Wonderful 2-week stay photographing Northern Lights and exploring the middle-north of Iceland. Excellent, comfortable, basic rooms, with a very nice shared kitchen. There's a small store across the street with gas/benzin, a moderate range of foods and supplies, and a selection of fresh fruits/vegetables. "Very small room, the bathroom is a design where the walls are glass which is not ideal as they are semi see through. The shower and toilet are also on the same level which cause water to go everywhere. Nice decor throughout but rooms are expensive for what they offer"

"Getting to the guesthouse was a bumpy ride, be careful midway as there is a big difference in elevation, our suv most definitely hit the ground pretty hard. Other than this instance, the host was sweet and greeted me and gave me a tour for the guesthouse. The room was quaint and the facilities were clean. There is a hot tub in the back but i wasn’t able to check it out, though it wouldve been nice if I wasnt so tired. Would recommend! :)"

"Room was spacious and clean in a convenient location - walkable to nice restaurants and grocery store. The lounge was nice too—only wish it wasn’t locked after 8pm so guests can use it even if there isn’t service. Otherwise enjoyed our stay!"

"Nice new facility in the lodge. Check in confusing as Hotels.com said no Check in staff, contact facility directly but gave no phone number. I emailed facility and no response. Phone call to Hotels.com the day before no help either. Had to call facility once there and staff came over but if we didn't have someone with cell service, could've been a problem. "

"An amazing guesthouse experience. Your hosts are generous and kind, and the house is a jewel set in a beautiful farmland context. See the sheep come up to the deck; cast your eye at the small historic cemetary. One of my favourite stays in Iceland!"

"The only thing negative is the listing showed “Laundry”. That usually means a laundry room that one can do there own laundry. This was you call and the family comes to get it for a fee. It’s lovely in the open country and easy to get to. "
