"Perfect location near the marina & ferry and close to the shops, bars and restaurants in town. The host was welcoming and friendly, and very kindly made alterations to accomodate last minute changes to our stay. We only stopped one night during a yacht regatta and didn't get the opportunity to eat at Jireh House due to our race timings but the food being served in the restaurant looked excellent - we will be back! The rooms were peaceful, clean and had very comfortable beds. Space was restricted in the en-suite (shower, washbasin and toilet) in one of our rooms but this is clearly because this is a beautiful historic building so it cannot be extended to hold a larger facility. This is not a criticism and it did not detract from my visit at all; I mention it only for the benefit of those with resticted mobility who may wish to mention it in their preferences when booking."

"Disappointed with to find a whole large bowl of yogurts out of date ( not just one but all were out of date) The lady at dinner greeting us had a bit of an attitude problem and was not friendly Receptionist blamed the staff which was very unprofessional for a hotel of this calibre, they could do an awful lot better We were not the only ones to complain, receptionist indicated that their student staff had gone back to college The clearly is a middle or even a senior management and business model issue that needs addressing"

"The house was lovely with huge rooms, well kept extensive grounds and a very welcoming feel. It had obviously been home for a happy, active family with many activities and sports equipment for a range of ages, from lego and board games to a tennis court, swimming pool and kayaks. The lifejackets can be hired from the company swim safety. We had a wonderful time catching p with family members of all ages, in such a beautiful and welcoming place."

"Except location, for attractions and activities. Noisy at night on the weekends around town but usually quiets down by 11 pm. Saturday morning chef was not good. The toast was a door stop and barely toasted and the butter was liquid! In the plastic packet. Service was also slow at breakfast but only on the Saturday. All other days were brilliant. Room 4 has a very small sink in toilet/shower room. A sink more appropriate for a cloakroom toilet. Other than those comments loved the Bugle and would return but not to room 4."

"The house was lovely, very clean throughout, just a few little niggles. There wasn't a welcome pack as such, so we did not have anything like emergency numbers, there wasn't some essentials like food waste bags. We didn't have any silver foil for cooking, to protect the likes of the grill. These are little things but also quite important. The cottage is beautiful, has a lovely mature garden, just have to watch that small pond. We didn't see any wildlife because the bird/squirrel feeders hadn't been kept up to date. I would recommend the home to anyone, so much around for all types of guests."
