"Our July trip to Ottawa almost started with a disaster after a sudden booking cancellation at reStays, but ending up at The Metcalfe Hotel was a massive upgrade. My friend Cafer and I needed a place quickly, and the front desk staff were incredibly accommodating and got us sorted immediately.
The hotel's design and attention to detail are top-notch—you can really tell they care about the guest experience. The five-story atrium lobby and the loft-inspired rooms have a fantastic, moody atmosphere that feels like a massive step up from a standard corporate hotel. The room was spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and having a proper espresso maker in the room was a huge plus for our mornings. We also grabbed some great coffee downstairs at the Cocotte Bistro.
Logistics were very straightforward. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown, making it an easy walk to Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal. While they do offer valet, we opted for the nearby municipal parking, which was easy to navigate and had plenty of room for my Jeep Cherokee.
