"Was told by staff room had a mini fridge and freezer. There was no freezer and I had to store my ice packs, which I need to keep medication cold when out of room, in the freezer of the “breakfast prep area.” This hotel also does not have any sort of backup generator/s in case of a power outage. They are located in an area known for strong and severe storms. One would think the owners would get a backup generator of some kind. Nope. The power went out during a severe storm the first night of my stay, which happened to be my birthday, and I was forced to try sleeping on top of the covers with no circulating air in the because, you guessed it, of no backup generator. If I ever make it back to the greater Kansas City area I will sleep in my car before I stay at the Sonesta Essentials - Overland Park again."

"The room was ok, spacious and good to accommodate 5 people for a couple of nights, but definitely old. Beds were comfortable and pillows are of good quality. Cleanness was subpar, especially bathroom. Bedsheets and pillows for the sofa bed were missing when we arrived. There was no room service during the four days we stayed there, however I noticed the shower gel was replenished during our stay."

"The room is amazing. The atmosphere of the hotel is incredible. The pools were great for the kids and the adults. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Michelle and Debbie at the front desk were wonderful! The valet Harold was great! The staff in the restaurant were also great. The pool staff were very friendly and helpful. "

"Good experience overall, and very easy to send them with my car. Overall found the place a little grungy for the price like there was a stain on the carpet and something on the wall that looked spilled. Not disgusting just not spotless I would say. The coffee was never there in the morning it felt like and that was a little annoying. However overall good experience, felt safe and comfortable so good experience overall."
