"We stopped off at the Royal Oak for a couple of nights on our way back to Scotland after holidaying in Wales. We had plans to visit Chester and Liverpool before heading home and the location worked well for us travelling by car. Booking in was straight forward enough but they wanted a payment card handed over so that they could make all the entries instead of putting a card through a card reader.
