"I appreciated that the staff does listen to travelers. They asked how was our room and I commented it was fine, the only issue I had was the showerhead, it needed some maintenance to make it flow better. When we returned to our room after spending the day outside, I noticed the showerhead was replaced with a new one! It works better and I enjoyed the shower! Thank you for responding so quickly! :-)"

"My husband and I wanted a beachside getaway to celebrate our 25th, and the Hotel Del Mar did not disappoint. We were greeted in the cheerful lobby by an enthusiastic front desk person who offered up complimentary rosé. The room was simple and clean. My only criticism is the less than fluffy pillows, thin towels and the door the bathroom door that didn’t quite latch. There was an in room keurig, but we preferred the fancy complimentary coffee machine in the lobby. Side note - there was also a “bar” with a brewer and wine for sale. There was no bottled water but there was a pitcher that you could bring to the lobby for purified water. The back patio was right there in the beach. It featured plenty of loungers and high chairs facing the water. There was a ledge in front of the high chairs where we enjoyed little sunset picnics. My only criticism here - if you wanted the loungers you might be looking at the backs of the people in the high chairs. Beyond the ideal proximity to the water, the hotel itself is located within walking distance to the park and a main drag with tons of restaurants. Our favorite was An’s Hat Shop - the best ice cream ever! There was plenty of parking and we were so close to Solana Beach and Encinitas as well. Such quaint beach towns without any over crowding! There is a local train that passes but we barely noticed it when we were in our room. If you are looking for a romantic beach getaway this is the place!"

"They are under some major remodeling so that's why I gave them 4 start for cleanliness but other than that it was great ! Unfortunately the people above my room were the loud, stomping all night, dropping heavy things on the floor type of guests but that is not the Hotel's fault. I could have complained but decided not to. I will book with them again in the future. The front desk/reception gentleman was very cordial and friendly."
