We didn't initially realize that everything was unplugged and we had to turn on the water heater for a warm shower but once identified those were easy enough to manage. Not that it was entirely unexpected, but there is no elevator and we were three flights up so that is something to consider."

She is really nice friendly and gave us information where to go and history about the city and the hotel. Very useful and interesting. If you need anything she’s there to help. "The Hotel Tolomei was an unforgettable experience. It really was a Palace! When we arrived Danielli (the owner) welcomed us as if we were Family. The rooms were magnificent but welcoming. "Residence Leopoldo is close to the tram station (500m) which is a short distance to Santa Maria Novella Station. It is very clean, quiet and comfortable for 2 people. We had a studio apartment with a bed and sofa bed, a small, well equipped kitchen. The bathroom was large with a washing machine and lots of hot water. There is a coffee machine but only 2 free coffee pods. We had to buy coffee from the reception (0.5euros/pod). You can also buy wine at reception for a reasonable price which was...

"The young lady who checked us in, I believe Gloria was her name, was very sweet and helpful during our stay. She upgraded us to a suite and it was very comfortable except for a dog that barked during the night,apparently, it belonged to the owners who were not on the property. So other than the dog annoying us during the nights and early mornings it was a comfortable place to stay and close enough to Florence to drive to in about 15 to 20 minutes. Just be careful not to be redirected too much...
