"The lobby is beautiful as well as the courtyard. Difficult to locate the valet parking, so parked a few blocks away as most streets are closed nearby. The room was nice, but the age of the hotel shows with regard to plumbing. I am sure it would not be possible to update a historic structure such as this. Loved the adjacent bar visited by Teddy Roosevelt. Our room had a view of the Alamo grounds. "

"The breakfast was fresh, but the menu never changed. When we arrived, the water wasn't working in the whole hotel, and we weren't told that until AFTER we paid for the room. That was the case with some other guests as well. The rooms were cleaned only upon request. The drainage in the shower was AWFUL. The parking garage didn't feel safe as there were no barrier gates or doors to keep walkers from the street coming in and stealing and possibly mugging some folks. The hotel staff didn't seem confident or comfortable talking to guests and answering simple questions about the hotel and the surrounding area. "
