"We received a warm welcome from Ryan at his 'Community' pub, Ring o'Bells, West Alvington on the outskirts of Kingsbridge. The bedrooms are beside the carpark; access to them is via an open sturdy metal stairway which may be a challenge in adverse weather. The beds with en-suite facilities were clean and well-presented; we all enjoyed a good night's sleep without any distractions. The highlight of the Ring o'Bells is the spectacular Devon countryside overlooking the outskirts of Kingsbridge...

"Great base for travelling around. Comfort able room. Excellent food in resturant. Breakfast was continental, which wasn't a problem, but should have been advertised as that really. "

"The toilet was on the outside of the room which i was not expecting when i had booked a room with a private bathroom. The shower also steps onto carpet and there is no exhaust fan and no way to open the window which makes room quite humid when trying to straighten hair. Also concerned also the shower had some mould in it. The no exhaust fan with the shower being in the room could lead to mould problems in the future. Otherwise okay"

"The room was very clean and accessible. it had a shared bathroom but was otherwise self contained. The hostess (Cath?) was very helpful and responsive. The building looked more residential than a hotel but did exactly what I needed it to. I'm happy to recommend it for a short stay."

"A very friendly welcome when we arrived. The property is in a quiet street within easy walk of the Hoe, Barbican and the city centre. Parking can be difficult, but there were spaces when we arrived. Instructions are sent by the owner after booking, but it basically involves a pass for some free parking and paying for the rest. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we had a great nights sleep. There is a shower in the ensuite, but as this is only protected by a shower curtain, the floor...

"Very friendly and welcoming. Arrived early but able to drop luggage off. Flexible with breakfast times so able to catch train back easily. Plenty of tea and coffee available in room and everything you would need for a comfortable stay."

"The proprietors were welcoming and very helpful with dietary intolerances. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food was tasty and plentiful, proper food, not that novelle cuisiine nonsense. The beer was well-brewed and truly tasty. The parking was a bit cramped but nothing that any reasonably competent driver could not cope with. We would definitely stay there again."

"Not really a city view, view of Main Street, and the beautiful hills and valley to the left. Hosts are super helpful and friendly, always stay there when we go to Modbury. Food is good, room is clean and comfortable. "
