"While visiting Corpus for work, I needed a comfortable and reasonably priced hotel with easy access to main highways and thoroughfares. However, I ALSO wanted to be near the beach! Being from Central Texas, I wasn't about to miss out on the beach even if my purpose for being there was to work. This was a great option for me! I had a beach view from my room, and easy access to the beach for morning walks. The nightly rates were just as reasonable as other reputable hotels that do not have beach views or access, and the continental breakfast was a super convenient perk. My only cautionary comments would be - Aside from beach walks, this is not a walkable area. Although beach-facing, there are no restaurants or bars that I was able to see that one could quickly walk to. That said, there are many spots that you can get to via bike or vehicle within a 3 mile radius. I was there for work, not play, so this wasn't an issue for me. - Breakfast okay on one of the days I stayed, and great on the other. On my first day I got a text notifying guests that breakfast would be served approx 30 min later than expected. It was fine, but some of the cooked items were significantly over-cooked. The second day there were more cooked breakfast options, like small omelettes, and link sausage, and everything was delicious."

"I booked through hotels.com and did not see anything about an additional $100 deposit that would need to be paid at check in for incidentals. A little heads-up there would have been nice. I even prepaid the booking and spoke with the hotel front desk the day before to make sure everything was handled and no one mentioned it. Besides that unexpected cost (that will take a few days for my bank to release back to me) there were a few other issues. Parking is an additional fee and that was also not made clear in any way before hand. Towing is strictly enforced. The pool is lovely but right by the bar so not as kid friendly as you might hope. Luckily the beach is right there so we spent our time there instead. When we got to our room there was a stiff crusty pair of panties left hanging over the shower rod and the bathroom door was off the tracks so that it would not shut or lock. They did fix that promptly when I told them about it. The elevator door also got stuck when my kids were on it so they ended up taking the stairs. For what we paid to stay there I was pretty disappointed with everything except the beach access."
