The Lanhoso Castle, Located in Póvoa de Lanhoso, is regarded as one of the most imposing castles in Portugal. Built on top of the Pilar Hill - the largest granite monolith in the country, the Castle was very important regarding the conquest and formation of the Kingdom of Portugal.

It was classified as National Monument in 1910.
