"Well, checking in was not very pleasant. The gentleman that checked me in was very rude, and not very helpful. I simply asked if there was some nice places to eat around there, and he shrugged his shoulders and said I don’t know. Around the property there was a lot of dog poop everywhere. The breakfast was horrible. The bagels were stale. The eggs were very watery. Nobody was there to help you if you wanted something extra. Don’t ever stay there , go somewhere else."

"The room was clean, the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable and the reasons we always looks for a Holiday Inn Express for our accommodations. Breakfast was delicious and just what is needed for everyone. The kitchen staff was excellent and on top of refills and cleanliness. This property looks like it may need more staff-it was a busy place, especially at the front desk. A few things were empty, like the ice machine and the vending machine. Our room was very clean. We like the upgrades you have made and find it a comfortable Hotel for accommodations. We will look forward to our next stay."

"Clean rooms. Staff not so great at checkin. However place was nice and good spot off highway with shopping and restaurants."

"The Baymont location in Smithfield NC is not up to the standards of the Baymont brand. The rooms are suffering from benign neglect. Broken lights, dangerous electrical connections, microwaves removed, stolen hair dryers, beat up furniture. I suspect that Baymont bought this hotel from another hotel chain. To their credit, they did have a nice breakfast. The young lady that was the night manager was very accomodating. The housekeeping staff needs to be fired and/or the manager. Room deficiencies must be found by staff and documented on incident reports so that building maintenance people can address.The outside of the building is dirty. Cigarette butts, etc. all over. Major corporate scrutiny is needed."
