"The Hanza Hotel is situated in the old town area, there is only one very small mini bus that stops yards away from the hotel and runs half hourly. If you are able to walk many other trams/buses are within 10/15mins.
On entering the hotel we were greeted with a smile and the hotel looked fabulous. Check in was easy with no issues.
We were given room 402 which is on the top floor over looking great views of the river.
The room itself was a little outdated with the decor and furniture, however do not let this put you off staying. I would have liked to have seen more USB sockets or wall outlets given this modern age.
The beds were very comfortable and we had a good nice sleep after a long day out.
The breakfast was fantastic with a whole variety of hot and cold items to choose from. I would say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for breakfast.
There are lots of restaurants around the area, you could be spoilt for choice, the shopping area is a 15min walk away in the main town.
If I had to criticise anything there were two gripes, 1) could do with a bigger tv in the room given how far away from the bed if watching. 2) The WiFi in my room was definitely not high speed internet, lucky if I got 1mb speed. I spoke with reception who immediately resolved the problem by giving me a mobile internet device, this was about 50 times faster.
I would stay here again if visiting Gdansk in the future.
