I would sincerely recommend staying with a Fairmont Gould, as there was an amazing breakfast, great staff, own concierge, nicer floor.. the food options for breakfast or actually a great money saver with really high-quality food versus going to the restaurants. Amazing food options at the hotel, great amenities. Snorkeling in the lagoon with sea turtles and hundreds of tropical fish. Luau on property."

"What an exceptional place! We had such a magical time. We stayed as a family of four including our kids ages 9 and 3. We all loved being able to walk right across the street to the gorgeous ocean and see the sea turtles eating in the tide pools. I even came across a monk seal sleeping on the beach - (and gave it plenty of space). The kids especially loved the backyard and we all enjoyed the swing so much! From the unobstructed views of Mauna Kea to the star gazing, it’s a lovely property you can enjoy at all times of the day or night and we made sure to do so. The furnishings are beautiful and the home was very clean. Everything we possibly needed was there, and the outdoor shower was a huge plus. This home made our 30th anniversary vacation so special! Thank you so much the lovely stay!"

'My Favorite Place on Earth'

"My Favorite Place on earth is an idyllic spot for two people. The views are stunning, the sound of waves lulling you to sleep are peaceful, and waking up to a small, but well appointed kitchen to cook breakfast before sightseeing is a plus. Our stay was lovely and a great blend of restful and active days. Our favorite was driving less than 2 miles north to snorkel at Hapuna Beach where there is an abundance of colorful fish to see. We also loved seeing the turtles on the reef right behind the house.We spent most of our time at the house on the lanai watching the waves. There is no air conditioning, but the trade winds kept us comfortable for all but two afternoons. Sleeping with the fans on and the windows open was a must for us and kept us quite comfortable. We would definitely come back to what is now our favorite place on earth and happily recommend it to anyone considering a Big Island vacation."

"We loved our stay in Puako and did not want to leave. The house is so comfortable! The kitchen was fully equipped and we loved eating all our meals on the front porch where you can see the ocean through the trees. We went to hapuna beach and snorkeled at the end of the road. At low ride we walked along the rocks at the beach by the general store and saw so many turtles, we lost count. We also took a night manta ray snorkel from the harbor 10 minutes away. We definitely want to come back! The hosts are super nice and responsive."

"We had a wonderful stay overall and would absolutely recommend this property. The location is fantastic, with beautiful views and easy access to everything we wanted to do. The house itself is spacious, well maintained, and perfect for families or groups. The bedrooms are all generously sized with excellent air conditioning—it almost felt like having three primary suites plus a great kids' room. The kitchen was also very well equipped and had everything we needed for cooking meals. One thing we overlooked when booking was that the pool is actually more of a spool—it's only about 20" deep. That was on us for not reading the listing more carefully, but it's worth mentioning for anyone expecting a traditional swimming pool.Despite these minor inconveniences, we had a great vacation. The home is beautiful, the location is hard to beat, and with a few maintenance improvements, it would be an exceptional place to stay."

"We had a wonderful family time on this so comfortable property. The house is very modern with many conveniences, including bidet toilets and a quirky elevator. The property managers were on-the-spot helpful when we had any issues. There are two single kayaks for you to use. We rented a few more so everyone could go out on the bay. The kitchen was more than fully stocked with food staples, cooking and baking tools, and kitchen gadgets. We highly recommend this house as a perfect location for any big family get-together!"

"The property was beautiful and very spacious. The stores and market were only about 15 minutes away. The only part that was somewhat inconvenient was that in order to access one of the bedrooms, the master bedroom and bathroom needed to be entered. It worked out fine, but we had to coordinate with others in our party. That being said, we would most definitely return! Amazing!"
