"Lovely property with nice amenities. My wife was stuck in an elevator. No one responded to her pressing the alarms in the elevator, nor did anyone respond to her calls on the elevator phone for at least 10 minutes. She called me on her cell phone and I walked to the front desk to report the issue. Only then was there a response. The maintenance person who responded was not very polite - his comment to my wife was that she should "calm down." We were surprised that no one from management followed up with us. A plate of fruit was delivered to our room - as we were checking out."

"Room was clean and we had a suite which was very nice. the main restaurant canoe house was great as well as the Mediterranean one. The pool restaurant /shack has chicken fingers which weee too hard. I’d skip the luau. We paid $700 for 3 of us and it was at th parking garage at the back of the property not he beach as I thought initially whe the friend we were traveling with suggested it. Note to self to research myself. The beach was overcrowded due to it being spring break and we couldn’t get chairs if we went in the afternoon because people would leave their things in the chairs. The staff said there was a wait list and at one point we had to wait uber half an hour to get chairs even though some looked unoccupied. Kids club was great and educational activities. Because my daughter is younger than 5 I stayed with her. Overall a good experience but they should try to make sure paying guests aren’t waiting for beach and pool chairs during peak season. "

"What an amazing location! From the beautiful sun rises over Mauna Kea, the gentle crashing waves you can hear from the bedrooms. This house is perfect. We stayed for a week and the house was perfect for our small family with small children. Puako is a charming community, it feels safe, and the beach across the street has gentle waves for the littles to enjoy."

"I have only amazing things to say about our stay. This was our second time here and if we are lucky enough to come back to the Big Island, my dream would be to stay here again.The bedroom, dining, kitchen, and living areas are very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped and maintained. The owners have designed and decorated the house to match the beauty outside.Once the doors and windows are open, all you can see or hear is the ocean and the birds, really paradise. Plenty of chairs for relaxing or reading. We enjoyed some incredible whale watching while there in February/March.Close proximity to gorgeous beaches, restaurants, grocery (including the general store for basics and carryout sandwiches/snacks which is walking distance). Communication with the owners is easy"
