DoubleTree by Hilton New York JFK Airport

6/10 Okay

"Close to the JFK airport and they have a free shuttle to the airport. The property itself was good but very limited food and beverage options and noisy because it’s right by the freeway. Really the only reason to stay here is if you want to be close to the JFK airport. Otherwise there is no point. The staff did their job but they aren’t the friendliest people around."

"Rated 5 stars from a value perspective. The hotel seems fairly new and is in excellent condition. Room was a good size, very clean. The bathroom was very nice and also clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The subway is only 2 stops away from Manhattan. The walk from the F and M subway stop at 21st St/Queensbridge appears a little sketchy, but I've stayed in this area about seven times and no one has ever bothered me. There are a handful of area eating options, particularly Il Miglio, a six minute walk from the Capital. Enormous portions, great-tasting food and low prices. Sunshine Coffee - about a 5-minute walk was good for breakfast and rock-bottom prices for anywhere, let alone NYC."
