"WILL NOT BE RETURNING! Oh dear, well from what the pictures show and the price we paid it would seem to be regarded as somewhat a higher end hotel compared to your standard? Upon receiving our key we walked up to our room only to find the door unlocked and slightly open. We entered and LOCKED the door. The smell from the bathroom was a foul one. Constantly smelling of waste. And the decor was tired and looked rough. Oh not to mention the leak coming through one of the walls. Regardless of this we were tired and it was getting late. I woke early the next morning for work only to find the door was UNLOCKED during the night. I then reassured my partner and told her to lock the door and leave the key in the lock until I got back from work. She then rang me a few hours later to tell me someone was trying to get in. No knock, just force. She opened the door to find a woman. Who replied oh I thought my colleague was in here. No sorry nothing. DISGUSTING! My parter and daughter are in the room frightened and yet this woman did not care. For the rest of our stay we made sure we constantly locked the door. We went out for some food of course once again locked the door. Only to come back to it unlocked and our things moved. No clean sheets or anything? I went down and told the receptionist who looked at me like I was an idiot. Once again no apology. The staff seem to have no regard for the guests and I’m utterly disgusted. Got a frightened little girl and a concerned partner. Nice one"

"Great central city location for Salisbury. Greeted by friendly staff room was nice and cosy and surprinsinly quiet . Slept like a log. ONly a few minutes walk to major attractions and good pubs, cafe"s and restaurants. Brekfast was first class . Darren our waiter was really friendly and eggs to order was great. a gem of a hotel"

"Hotel and grounds were very nice and parking was easy. Having seen they had a restaurant, was a little taken by surprise to find out they did not serve dinner. They do provide transport to restaurants in town though"

"Lovely hotel in the new forest. Close proximity to walks. restaurants and cafes. Love breakfast in the morning. Helpful staff who were very accommodating of our two children. Thank you"

"The building is centuries old, so keep that in mind. The stairs are not always level, but they manage to provide modern amenities. The restaurant is a favorite among locals for good reason. And the House is across the street from the cathedral. So convenient."

"We stayed at New Forest Lodge for a weekend trip to Paultons Park. Overall I'd say our trip was okay. There were definite areas of improvement and I wouldn't suggest booking if you're looking for luxury. That being said, the room was mostly comfortable and we had everything we needed. When you arrive, if you're situated in a room upstairs, I could see the carpet was very worn. It wasn't the best impression. The decor is quite dated and the TV is pretty small. The king bed was comfortable. The singles however were put up beds and were uneven and not terribly comfortable. There was carpet worn away at the bathroom threshold to the point the grippers were exposed which presents a hazard, expecially for young children. The radiator in the bathroom was also damaged and didnt look overly reassuring of its safety. The check in was using a keysafe as the reception wasnt manned. I did see some staff briefly both mornings of our stay. Its a shame they dont have more of a presence. The lodge met our needs for the purpose we booked it for, I just feel it would be much improved with some investment into refurbishment. "

"Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Staff are fabulous at this hotel and I keep coming back. Disappointing at the change in dinner menu. If you don't like Indian food you'll need to eat out "
