"Found hotels in the centre of Edinburgh very expensive so travelled 10 miles or so out to stay here. Pleased I did. Lovely hotel with clean, modern and stylish rooms with lots of nice touches (took a photo of the bathroom so I can copy it if we ever redecorate!). Service very good throughout my stay. Really good food - my breakfast was excellent and included in the room rate! I've made note to definitely stay here again when I'm next in the area."

I suppose they add to the ambiance of the historical hotel. We were too hot during the night so propped the window open to get fresh air. Didn’t have any other way to regulate the temperature of the room"

"Excellent value, decor a little tired but it was a nice and clean hotel, our room was big with really comfy beds. All staff were attentive and helpful. Note: there are a lot of steps and stairs and no lift, so not suitable for those with limited mobility. Will stay again"

"The hotel was well located and check-in was easy enough in the pub next door, if a little slow. The location was quiet too. We were above the main entrance to the hotel and did have the noise and vibration of the door shutting but it wasn't that bad. It is within walking distance of shopping centres and supermarkets which was really convenient. There was plenty of free parking. It felt secure as the access was locked anyone without a room key. The rooms were a nice size and had some tea and coffee etc. The showers were excellent in pressure and heat and hand soap and body wash were provided. Overall cleanliness was good, you have to request for a room clean for stays over one night but that's not really an issue. We only stayed two nights so didn't bother but they won't refill tea unless you request it! There was a carpet stain and the walls were a bit fingerprint smeared and there was a gready stain above the futon from someone's head which was a bit gross but we weren't using that. I can't comment on accessibility, but I did notice disabled parking spaces."
