"The view of the lake was magnificent. The views and heritage homes were wonderful. The amount of day tourists were alarming, and the fact the way they behaved. As for the room itself, it was great. My only two issues were that the shower could not be properly adjusted and would always spray out onto the floor. And it was very hot without air conditioning. A fan was provided which helped a little. "

"Had a quick, lovely stay for one night in Hallstatt. The hotel is very quiet and secluded, with a beautiful view of the lake. Roshni, our host, was wonderful and was able to answer all our questions and arranged storage for our luggage."

"The two girls that helped me out were extremely helpful and kind. One was a bit newer, the other had been there a while. They went out of their way to let me in the gym until they closed, as well as helped me out with tea, and recommendation. I didn’t have wifi in my room and they did their best to get the wifi situated in a way that helped me. I didn’t end up getting better signal, but it was the effort on their part that showed me they were willing to go above and beyond. Close trip to Hallstatt, and Bad Ischl itself was beautiful. Wish there were more open food options but if you look hard enough or ask for recommendations you can find a couple good ones. Great location right by the water, restaurant had a fantastic steak, and breakfast buffet was also very good. Will return one day."

"Nice hotel right by Grundlsee Lake, offering an amazing view. I had a room with a balcony directly facing the lake—it was stunning. The breakfast buffet was great and had a lot of variety. There’s a bus stop right next to the hotel. I’ll definitely come again to enjoy a different view in the summer!"

As a family-owned hotel, they have a remarkable way of caring for their guests. We were there for hiking, and they took the time to help us with hiking routes and even recommended a great restaurant. The people are absolutely amazing—they truly understand hospitality, and it’s clear that guest satisfaction is their top priority. Another highlight of our stay was the breakfast selection. As vegetarians, we were thrilled with the variety of options available. There was an abundance of fresh fruit, Alpro yogurts, and a selection of healthy seeds—it was heaven for us. The coffee was also delicious. We would love to return to Alpina Wagrain in the future. We deeply appreciate their hospitality and the wonderful food offerings."
