Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone

"Pros: The room was very clean and had all the bits and bobs you need ( hair dryer, fan, iron, tea making stuff, tv and a fridge). The hotel also provided a travel cot for our baby. The room had a great sea view. The hotel it self is interesting, a bit run down and rough round the edges. There was live entertainment in the “ballroom” every night, which was cringy in an amusing way. The location is excellent. The room price was very reasonable (mid week). It is a budget hotel not a luxury one. Negatives: the front desk is very understaffed, we wanted to extend our stay and had to queue at reception, only to then be told we had to book via a phone attached to the wall. When we used the phone we were quoted £10 more than hotels.com. We then had to queue for another 20mins to get new key cards. There was only 1 receptionist for a hotel with hundreds of rooms. The pool was pleasant enough but you have to pay £4 each every single time you use it (even as a paying guest at the hotel). I think that’s a bit cheeky and I’ve never experienced that in a hotel before. They could at least add a single charge to your room for a pool pass instead. We didn’t have breakfast as I thought it was a little over priced. Over all we enjoyed staying there and will definitely be returning."

"We stayed at the Burlington for only one night but had an excellent experience. The staff was extremely helpful. We ate at the hotel restaurant and had a lovely dinner. The location worked out well for our remaining plans although we wish we'd had time to explore the town."

"We were really pleased with this accommodation! It had everything we needed and hosted 11 of us comfortably. All the beds were comfy and allowed everyone to have their own space. It was a time for some parents to step away from the chaos and get together with friends, and it did just that. We were very lucky with the weather so spent all our time in the garden. We all ate together and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. I would maybe suggest some more cleaning materials as those were limited. Overall very pleased with our stay. The silent disco idea was amazing, and so much fun. Would definitely recommend for group holidays."

"I stayed for one night at Channel View and we had a lovely time. Sonia and Lee were very accommodating and let us check in early and check out late. The Prosecco and snacks on arrival were a great touch to go with our time spent in the hot tub. I would definitely stay here again!"

"Overall this place was exactly what we needed for one night before taking the Chunnel. Even the neighbors were so kind and helpful! There were amenities within walking distance, and the town center was just a few minutes drive away. Folkestone is a beautiful town. Thank you for a nice stay!"

"This was such a lovely place. The perfect spot to relax and unwind after a 30 hour day. Joy was a great host and very quick to respond with any questions we had. We stayed for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely come back. "
