"An unforgettable experience in the Douro Valley. The views from the property are simply stunning, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special — personalized touches throughout made it feel like far more than just a hotel stay. The chef's dinner was a true highlight, and the wine tasting experience was expertly guided. The only reason this isn't a full five stars is the more rural location means a bit more travel time to reach — but that's also part of what makes the Douro so...

"Phenomenal staff, service and great stay"

"This property clearly has a home touch to it. Very much a bed and breakfast experience. The owner is very attentive to your needs. The only thing we found lacking was a good restaurant nearby."

"Merveilleuse place ! Service A1, personnalisé. Une vue à couper le souffle. Très propre, très bonne nourriture du souper! Rien à dire à part : merci pour tout et au plaisir d’y revenir un jour !"

"Property, location and staff were great with amazing views of the lake and neighboring vineyards. Its biggest flaw is the bedroom - sagging mattress and lumpy pillows made for a very umcomfortable sleep. I didnt have a restful sleep. The carpet in the bedroom can be updated."

"The hotel is set on a hillside facing the Douro River. Our room had an incredible view. The place is quiet and well-maintained. Our room was clean and had all the amenities of home. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and they offered to make you eggs and pancakes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"Great location and friendly staff. The breakfast was very well served. Very good for traveling as a couple! The only downsides were the lack of pool towels and the external lights and noise, especially from the automatic air conditioning at night."

"River front view, parking, good breakfast options. Like most Douro places you stay at, an auto is needed."

"My husband and I loved our corner room overlooking the Douro River. We enjoyed meeting other guests for delicious breakfasts. The owner, Marie, and staff were very helpful. The bedding and towels were dreamy. The drive up winding roads was a bit unnerving, but it was worth it to return to the Casa each afternoon. We avoided driving after dark. We didn't use the pool because it was cool outside. It was beautiful - and on a warmer day, I would have jumped right in. We highly recommend this...

"Our stay at Octant Douro was easily the highlight of our trip to Portugal. We absolutely loved the hotel’s tranquil and picturesque setting along the Douro River. Our room overlooked the river, and we often found ourselves sitting in silence, simply taking in the breathtaking scenery and peaceful surroundings. The pool facilities were beautifully maintained and provided the perfect setting for relaxation. The restaurants were outstanding, and the breakfast was excellent, offering a delicious...

"Lovely hotel but we were too busy touring to enjoy the hotel's amenities. Would like to have stayed longer. Close to downtown and easily walkable."

"The best place to stay in the Douro Valley! Régua is quaint, good dining and access to the train station. The owners were very welcoming upon arrival and the room was impeccable and charming. Beautiful views, gorgeous gardens, bird avierys and a lovely pool! Breakfast was wonderful and a great finish to our trip to Port country!"

"Incredible hotel. Absolutely beautiful property. Rooms were beautiful. Staff friendly and professional. Convenient location."

"Une charmante ancienne demeure bien située. J'ai eu une agréable conversation avec le propriétaire qui est courtois et affable."
