"Horrible property, criminal mismanagement. Our room had a horrible odor that worsened when we ran the A/C unit. It smelled like either an animal had died in the vent or the prior occupant had vomited all over the room without anyone cleaning. We checked out after 1 horrible night and switched hotels. At the front desk, they apologized and said to reach out to Expedia to coordinate the refund for the unused night. But when Expedia reached out, the property refused to refund us for the unused night. Front desk just completely lied to us. Avoid this property at all costs."

"Parking garage was great. seeing as it was in the city and knowing there is no need to look for parking outside the hotel. Only one desk staff, who seemed overwhelmed with no extra help. Also from my constant going in and out of the hotel, it seems as if the person had no break for at least 7 hours straight. Which I figured contributed to me not being informed that I would have to keep my keycard when checking out, to get out of the garage. Communication is essential to smooth running of a business. I had to return to an empty, unmanned desk and retrieve my keycard, which I had left there for someone to take care of. Unmanned desk=no information given. Terrible scenario."

"This is one of the most impressive historical hotels we have experienced and this includes the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC. The history and architecture is unbelievable. The staff, exceptional, along with the services provided during our time at the hotel. The brunch, delectable."

"Very nice hotel at a good price in a downtown Richmond location. The desk staff were super nice and very helpful. They have a very interesting elevator system where you touch the screen for the floor you want. When we were in the parking garage, it took me a while to figure out how to get to the lobby (which has its own logo at the bottom of the numbers). It is nice though because you typically have the elevator to yourself. The breakfast was simple, but good. The beds were comfortable, but I had trouble sleeping because of the very loud air-conditioning sound going on and off during the night. The only other thing I would add is that the hotel is somewhat dated with scratched furniture in the rooms. They should definitely replace the rug in the main lobby, which is ragged on one side and is not a good look. I would probably stay here again. "
