"I had a really good stay at Hyatt House Downtown Portland. The room was lovely—clean, comfortable, and well set up for a relaxing visit. I also want to highlight the front desk and kitchen staff, who were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast buffet was very good as well. One area that could use improvement is housekeeping. It would be better if room cleaning was consistently done when requested or scheduled. I wasn’t entirely sure, but it felt like there was some hesitation with service, possibly related to tipping expectations. I had planned to tip through the hotel’s online tipping service after the room was cleaned, but the service didn’t happen as expected. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and with a bit more consistency in housekeeping, it would be an excellent experience."

"Great check in, convenient parking (right under the building), friendly and helpful staff. Ok continental breakfast fare. Arcade games, a room of stuff to check out and use—I thought about grabbing the guitar. Only issues were a very slow draining sink and a toilet that wouldn’t flush unless you monkeyed around with the tank innards. I mentioned this and they kindly offered to waive my “amenity fee” which had been included in the Expedia package price. Overall a nice experience. The room was otherwise great with a comfy bed. Would stay again!"

"Clean and kind"

"No air conditioning. The hotel heaters were on even in the lobby even though it was in the high 70s F outside in portland. The room was hot the entire stay. Some things were broken or a bit dirty in the hotel room. The hotel room door would not open after trying it way too many times, we had to ask someone from the front desk to open it. He ended up having to push his weight into the door to get it to open. We then also had to do this every time we wanted to go into the room. Parking is close. Staff was really nice. The beds are nice. The bathroom was nice. There was a very large industrial massive pipe on the side or the hotel (not sure what the purpose is) its loud and right outside the hotel window so we had to listen to that during our stay. Hotel has a funny older building type of smell. "
