"Room was clean and bed comfortable, quite a small room but good for what we needed for 1 night, easy parking and a quiet night, kettle with tea bags etc, easy entry to building and room. Only 1 negative was that there was mould on ceiling in bathroom so obviously poor ventilation, I opened window in bathroom while showering and that helped but obviously over time it hasn’t been well ventilated. Would definitely stay again when that way. "

"Good value in all with really lovely staff which made the stop. Why i have given them 3 stars is because they had no eggs for breakfast for me that a crime as i stay away a lot i don't want fried food so always have poached eggs. When you have a full day ahead of you i rely on breakfast which is why i paid £11.95 for it in advance. What was served was poor quality and not worth the money. I still cant believe a hotel with no eggs!"

"Stunning building with such potential for a star of the art hotel in a fabulous historical building. Unfortunately it seems to be being run by a lack luster company with no imagination for what it could be. The room we had was enormous but had been decorated in very low quality materials. The carpets were cheap and badly laid and the curtains were a thin cheap materials. The Restuarant similarly had such huge potential but was thinly and poorly staffed with inexperienced and untrained staff. They did their best but were simply just not up to the job. The food was very average, not bad but average. A hotel in a property of such potential deserved much much better. We had great expectations on what was out 46th wedding anniversary but were disappointed despite the comfortable bed "

"Water in tap in bathroom sink was cold. There was no hot water in the sink when washing hands. Also tissue paper was of poor quality and they were sticking all over. At reception at arrival it was less welcoming. "
