"We had a great experience at this ryokan! They picked us up from the train station and upon arrival at the hotel, a staff member discussed the amenities, use of the onsen and will answer any questions. The ryokan has a small outdoor onsen. Traditional Japanese breakfast and 12 course dinner are included in the room rate. Overall a wonderful stay."

" The hotel environment is absolutely extraordinary! Staff are nice and warm. The 2 included meals are delicious. The location is not at a convenient spot however there are shuttle services. If there is any imperfection, I would say the breakfast cafe seems a bit too crowded. I mean, the table arrangement is quite busy "

We had the private onsen and loved it. Come hungry as the kaeseki is very filling and you’ll want to try it all. Incredible staff, service, and attention. Would love to visit again. "

"Stayed at Gora Kadan for one night We arrived in Gora from Tokyo mid morning & spent the time until 3pm check in exploring the area, We had a wonderful stay, looked after extremely well by Shuto who also served our evening meal in our room in true Rokyan style Dinner was outstanding, our dietary requirements were so well taken care of, each dish was exquisite Breakfast was also delicious & served in our room by Shuto Our room was spacious, & had an outdoor private onsen, so relaxing to sit in...

"The Onsen were wonderful. And on the whole, this ryokan felt very nice. However, we would NOT recommend eating there. The dinner was very expensive and very poor quality. The tempura was old and had been cooked 2 or 3 days ago. Each dish was pretty vile. Also there was a family in the room above ours with extremely noisy children and we could hear everything. "Extremely beautiful and wonderful spot to go to. Not a lot of food immediately around, but take a bus over to the station and you'll find a lot. Sadly not 5-stars because expedia markets this hotel for 2-6 people per room, but when you book a room, it only does so for 2, and on arrival you have to pay to have the other 4 stay as well. "

"5 minutes walk from Souzan station, place was quiet with 2 onsens. Onsen are rotated every 12 hours. Kaiseki styled Dinner and breakfast were provided as there is very limited food option in Hakone area and most public transport end at 5pm"
