"Great property in a great location. We wanted to stay somewhere we could walk out the door and be right there amongst it. The family loved our time in Paris and the kids said it was their favourite place; strolling on the Champs Elyse in the evenings, morning runs along the Seine, the Louvre across the park and cafes and restaurants on your doorstep. Looking forward to going back and staying there again. "

"The pictures for this property are very misleading. The place is very outdated and there’s a horrible smell that comes from the shower. On day of checkin I was sent an email outside of the hotels.com site asking for a deposit even though my booking was paid up front. It was a little bit sketchy. "The place was easy to find in a good locality- close to transport, restaurants etc. It was much smaller than we had expected & we had to call Yann when we arrived to ask about removing a bag of dirty linen & to find out how to get on the internet. "We really enjoyed our stay at Des Grands Voyageurs! Attentive staff, and an especially welcoming bellhop, who we enjoyed seeing each day. The room had a lot of great touches, like small minibar included and refilled (with snacks, Coke products, beers), a little welcome gift, etc. They offered refillable water bottles, which was a little odd (3 euros to replace them or get a new one), but it was nice they'd fill your water bottles. The location is wonderful - just a block off the Sainte-Placide Metro and walkable to the Jardin du Luxembourg, shopping, restaurants, etc. We love this area, as it's somewhat more residential but still very close to our favorite attractions. Bed was comfortable and the rooms were well-appointed. Breakfast was also good. Would have been nice to have eggs and coffee to order, as the coffee machine coffee in particular wasn't great, but overall very nice, especially for a 4-star property. Also nice that there was a fitness center. Would have liked to see some smaller weights than 11lbs, but other than that, it was sufficent for travel workouts. The restaurant and bar area are beautiful, but we were disappointed to see that the bar was dead every night. No guests or outside patrons. We really love a lively bar at a hotel and this bar has a lot of potential. Overall, we had a great stay. The value of the room rate was good for the quality (i.e. it was not inexpensive at all, but not overpriced). We would definitely stay at this hotel again! "
