"the houses were looking lovely on the internet and the house itself was clean and well maintained but it is more a hotel of value of 200 /300 reales per night. no more. the bed was cheap and terrible. the sheets were as thin as they could possible be and we didn't feel comfortable when we entered the room and found blood spatters on the wall and curtains. this doesn't fill one with confidence "

"We absolutely loved this guesthouse! We stayed there for 5 nights in May and it was lovely! The location is great - in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks away from the historical district (an easy walk and we felt safe walking at night). The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast buffet was delicious!! We loved the warm cake served every afternoon at 5pm - what a treat! The staff were friendly and helpful. "Our spacious room was located on the third floor overlooking the pool and the bay. Unlike many resorts, the room had generous closet space for both of us. We were greeted by name upon arrival, and I appreciated the upgrade. We dined at both resort restaurants and sampled the sushi at another. We enjoyed the fresh desserts and pastries at the bakery and coffee shop. We used the gym everyday and had a blast on the beach. The concierge arranged a driver and guide for a day trip to Paraty. I highly recommend it. In addition, I was able to hike along a trail in the resort that led to a waterfall. The grounds throughout are immaculately maintained. I appreciated the staff bridging my sparse Portuguese and for allowing me to practice improving my language skills. I thank the housekeepers who ensured our space was always organized and well maintained. There is a great selection of breakfast choices either in the buffet or available on the menu. The maitre d’ was welcoming and always accommodating. Barthelemy’s is a wonderful men’s apparel shop. Be sure to check it out in the resort shopping section. After three nights, I felt completely rejuvenated and ready for the next leg of our journey through Brazil."
