This hotel is quaint and charming with very attentive staff. The restaurant food is superb! It is near train tracks but the windows close out the noise perfectly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The only thing to be aware of is that it is not in the main town of St.Goar. This isn’t a problem if you have a car or bike. We thought we could walk it but we underestimated how far it is. We had to rely on the local taxi and while very efficient, it cost us 18 euros every trip (each way) which really added up over the few days we were there.

We only stayed one night. Very nice and friendly staff! The room exceeded our expectations and was very big for our small family. The room also has a beautiful view of the Rhine river. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious!

Overall a Good Stay

Rooms were clean and comfortable and by European standards a little larger than most. Restaurant at property was very good. Breakfasts also had good variety. A few observations: rooms were a little warm even with the air conditioning on; and while the property is on the Rhine I could not see any common sitting areas where a person could sit and enjoy the view.

Wonderful location. Pleasant, individual hotel.

Wonderful situation on the Rhein. Ample, free on-site parking. Charming staff. Spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast, both in the selection on offer and quality of food - and no plastic waste! Meat eaters enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant. Veggie choice not so good. The main drawback for older people, or those with mobility problems, was the lack of lift and a rather unforgiving marble staircase. Fortunately, for a one night stay, we were able to leave the suitcase in the car.

A warm welcome

We had a lovely overnight stay with stunning views of the Rhine. As it was February we were unable to take advantage of the riverside terrace but we dined well in the restaurant and took advantage of the products of the winery.The only slight criticism is that the breakfast, though good, was expensive.

Amazing hotel with room overlooking the Rhine River out of a huge window ! The owner and staff are so friendly and kind! The dinner was exceptional, and the dining room enclosed with windows overlooking the Rhine and served by a very attentive and friendly waiter. Great experience! One thing to be aware of is that it is approximately a 2 mile walk from town if you are without car.

We couldn’t have been happier with both the property and the staff. Our rooms were better than we ever expected, spacious and clean, beautifully appointed with a view of the river. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, in spite of the language barrier! The meals we had there, including the house wines, were great too! The people in the town of Sankt Goar deserve a special mention too, as a few kind souls arranged to transport us from the train station, when we discovered there were no taxis in town! We highly recommend this property and I am sure our stay therei will remain one of the highlights of our trip!

Property was clean, but a bit over priced for the lack of amenities. Dinner was good and breakfast was nice. No hot water for tea available. When I asked if they had an electric kettle for the room or hot water for evening tea, I was told no, I’d have to wait until breakfast.

It’s actually a lovely hotel, and the staff are very friendly, but for the price there were some issues with the rooms. There is no AC or ability to turn off the heat and the pillows and blankets were tiny. This is a minor complaint but it’s such an easy fix…

Gemütliches Familienhotel am Rhein – mit Stärken und kleinen Schwächen Wir haben in einem charmanten Familienhotel übernachtet, das seit Generationen geführt wird. Die Lage ist wirklich traumhaft – direkt am Rhein, zwischen dem Wasser und der einzigen Straße, die von Sankt Goar nach Koblenz führt. Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit, was unseren Aufenthalt besonders angenehm gemacht hat. In der Umgebung kann man schöne Spaziergänge entlang des Rheins unternehmen, und wir haben eine interessante Burgruine besichtigt. Für Radfahrer ist dies ein idealer Ausgangspunkt. Wir haben im Hotel zu Abend gegessen und das Essen mit Blick auf den Rhein sehr genossen. Salat, Schnitzel und Pommes – alles war lecker und die Preise waren sehr fair. Auch Weinliebhaber kommen hier auf ihre Kosten – es gibt eine große Auswahl für jeden Geschmack. Ein kleiner Nachteil war das Appartement. Durch die Dachschräge wurde es recht warm, die Matratzen waren uns etwas zu weich. Die Klimaanlage war leider zu schwach für die gesamte Wohnfläche, sodass nur im Schlafzimmer eine Kühlung spürbar war. Zudem hat mich das regelmäßige Anspringen der Klimaanlage nachts oft geweckt. Insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt mit toller Lage und freundlichem Service – mit kleinen Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten beim Wohnkomfort. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die die Rheinregion erkunden möchten.

Must stay hotel

I can't rave about this hotel enough. This is the second time I've stayed there and I purposely planned our trip for an overnight here. We biked from Eltsville to Koblenz and stopped here. They have a secure bike garage. Hotel is right on the Rhine overlooking a castle on the other side. Room is updated and modern and it overlooked the river. Great air conditioning. Dinner is a must - the BEST Sauerbraten in Germany and you have to get their local wine made at their winery. 5 of us went through 2 bottles and we could have had more! Staff is delightful. Breakfast was a feast with all offerings - fresh OJ, meats, cheese and fantastic local honey. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Das Haus und die Möbel sind in den 80 er Jahren stehen geblieben. Die hier aufgerufenen Zimmerpreise sind definitiv überzogen und unrealistisch. Im Internet sahen die Zimmer höherwertig aus. Die Küche ist sehr zu loben. Auch hier, sehr hochpreisig, aber auch sehr lecker. Schöner Blick von der Terrasse auf den Rhein.

Very nice experience. Only negative was because the family apartment was in the upstairs attic. It was hot. They have a unit in the bedroom to cool and it did well in there but the rest of the apartment was boarder line warm. We were fine with it but I would not be able to handle the summer months there. Maybe another unit would help. Lovely workers lovely location!

La experiencia en el check in fue buena, el personal fue muy amable y nos esperaron hasta las 9pm que llegamos. Tuvieron un detalle muy lindo de ponerme en un florero mis tulipanes sin haberlo solicitado. El baño limpio y todo funciona bien. Algunos detalles a mejorar: por accidente se derramó un poco agua limpia de mi termo en mi cama y quedó húmeda. Cuando regresamos, (pasaban de las 10:30pm) la cama seguía poco mojada y también el edredón, por la hora no había forma de contactar al personal de limpieza o de recepción para que lo cambiaran. Las almohadas un poco incómodas. El hotel huele un poco a humedad. En general bien. Relación calidad precio, me pareció un poco elevado, (el estado del hotel un poco viejo), compare hoteles con precio similiar mejores
