"This hotel was in a good location however the poor sound proofing let down what could have been a much better experience. Overall the room and the facilities were fine but we would have really preferred a sofa or two comfortable chairs rather than a table and two uncomfortable dining chairs. Maybe that’s just us! "

"The hotel is more of a motel, with most of the rooms facing the garden and parking. I was here for business and it happened to be during spring break. There were college students arriving late at night and being very loud. I had to call reception to ask them to go to their rooms. Turns out, the front desk closes at 11P and there is no one monitoring the property. Also, the walls are pretty thin, so I could hear my neighbors talking (unclear words, yet noise). And the lower level rooms do not get a lot of sun. The beds are comfortable and breakfast is nice enough for a hotel. I prefer the sister property, Brisas, but they're higher priced most nights."

"The hotel is huge but very, very under staffed. We tipped the staff because they were working over the legal time. They had to keep apologizing to the guests when it was not their fault. Our bathroom shower fell apart, the water was leaking, the toilet was not secure and kept moving, We were very excited about our trip but extremely disappointed. There was one employee at check-in with 8-10 guests in line. One waiter at the gorgeous restaurant, therefore, guests were frustrated or left. One poor bartender over worked. One young man, Cole, at the "buffet" was the only waiter. We would not ever stay there again, "

"A very quaint and comfortable property located within three blocks of the beach and a half a mile from the Santa Barbara pier. Room was very comfortable with a large king bed small kitchen and small 3/4 shower bathroom, too. Concierge staff, especially Mickey, were very helpful and entertaining with restaurants dining tips etc. However, as a retired commercial real estate appraiser with 45 years experience, the accommodations were overpriced for what was presented. What’s up, kid?"

"The free breakfast was good, had a lot of choices. The shower head needs to be replaced in room 203. The pond and the grounds were beautiful. Loved the ducks which for 50 cents you can feed them. Loved the free toy fish. We will definitely stay there again. "

"I stayed two nights in March 2026 and had a very poor experience. On the first night a neighboring room’s air conditioner made loud bursting noises, so around midnight I asked the front desk for another room and moved to a far-end room. That room had towels on the bathroom floor and trash in the bin, though the bed looked clean. I fetched fresh towels from the lobby, then discovered there was no toilet paper; I managed with tissues. The next morning I reported the issues and requested toilet paper; staff brought one roll and said they’d send housekeeping. Later that evening the room had not been cleaned. I found a live cockroach on the floor, trapped it under a cup, and left it there. At checkout I reported the uncleaned room and the cockroach; the front-desk staff apologized verbally but offered no remedy or compensation. I have photos of the cockroach."
