The lower unit at Villa Vista is an upscale oceanfront vacation rental in Santa Cruz, CA. The property is truly unique among the many area short term rentals because it's actually on the beach. Nothing impedes the spectacular views of surf, sand and city lights. Whether it's soaking in the Jacuzzi while watching an incredible sunset or the magic of days spent relaxing at the beach catching up with loved ones, you'll always cherish the memories of your stay in the lower unit at Villa Vista. Highlights of the property include the following: •Three master bedrooms with three private bathrooms to accommodate six people comfortably. Beds can be made as 1 king or 2 twins. •A fully equipped, gourmet kitchen. •Outdoor spa for lower unit only, patio furniture, picnic table and BBQ. We have a portacrib and high chair, if needed. •Complete home entertainment center including a large Smart HDTV with cable and DVD, wireless DSL along with books and magazines •Washer/Dryer and linens all included. Parking for three cars on site. Guests have access to the entire first floor including bedrooms, kitchen, laundry room and living room with entertainment center. You'll also have the hot tub outside, a large picnic table, beach chairs, towels and toys. Walk right down to the beach and enjoy the surf and sand or walk a few blocks south and you're on the beautiful bluffs above Pleasure Point watching world class surfing or exploring the many coves and tide pools. It's 5 minutes by car or 15 by bike to the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk or the quaint beachside resort of Capitola Village. Just a bit further and you're on downtown Santa Cruz's Pacific Avenue, home of boutique shops, restaurants, coffee houses and world-class entertainment.

Amazing view and location! You can hear the waves inside the house. The beach view is gorgeous. We could watch the surfers. The inside is “meh”. It’s functional. The beds are comfy and the water is hot. Everything looks like it’s from the 1980’s. The kitchen needs some cleaning in the under-sink area and the drawers to get some of the old smells out.

Great location, but property really needs updating and a deep clean.

Property is definitely dated and doesn’t feel clean as carpet, upholstery and linens are terribly stained and worn. Needs more towels, especially since there are no laundry facilities. We were given 2 dish towels, one really worn hot pad, no oven mitts, etc. Cutting boards were so awful, we didn’t use them. Toaster oven didn’t work. Hair dryer didn’t work. Light bulbs were burned out. The view was amazing but given the price, we expected higher quality.

Amazing view

And the position of this property is worth a stay, the back bedroom is very near the road and was noisy. Otherwise we felt it could’ve been upgraded somewhat,But all in all we had a wonderful time

Ocean View

Ocean view was amazing, but the place has not been kept up. Things were either broken or didn't work. Not very clean. King beds were two twins put together with OLD pillows. If it weren't for the ocean view this would be a train wreck.

The condo was perfect. It was clean, well stocked, the beds were comfortable and the views are Magnificat. The hot tub was an added bonus we appreciated after our long hikes.

Amazing!!

The location of this place is AWESOME. Not only is it steps from a cozy little stretch of beach, but it sits on a small outcrop of rocks giving you the most incredible views of the sunrise/sunsets and ocean! The place itself was spotless when we arrived, and the unit is light and bright and well taken care of. Very responsive owner. We loved our time here and will be back.

Beautiful Location

The location of this home is nearly unbelievable -- we watched some beautiful sunsets out on the back porch. The house itself is quite spacious, but well-worn in. It felt like some parts of the home could use a good deep cleaning.

Amazing location and view

Exactly as advertised. Beautiful location with views up and down the coast, easily able to see dolphins and otters from the front of the property (even from within, through the windows.) One house over from the main, nearby beach area so literally a couple dozen steps. Hope to come back soon.

This is the second time I've stayed and we tried down stairs this time, which was just as fabulous as the upstairs. The view and access to the beach couldn't be any better. It is the best place to relax and enjoy the ocean sites and sounds. A fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, and Jacuzzi, make it easy to just stay in and enjoy the spectacular ocean views. An incredible place to unwind and revel in the beauty of Nor Cal.

Amazing Location!

Amazing location with it's proximity to downtown Santa Cruz and it's own little beach. Place was a little dated but clean. The hot tub is very nice and right on the ocean! Owners were accessible and check in and out instructions were easy. Thanks for a nice stay!

Thanks so much for a great stay - the xmas tree was an unexpected nice touch. OUR STAY AT VILLA VISTA

The latter part of February marks our sixth visit to Villa Vista. We have so enjoyed our time at the beach house, with a glorious view of the ocean, watching the Surfers and this year, we were mesmerized by the Maverick type waves. The Condo is always spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and has everything we could possible need for preparing any meals. It has become our annual getaway that we look forward to each year.

relaxing and beautiful

I have come many times to this beach house in Santa Cruz over the years and every year I come, I always feel sad upon departure morning. This beach house is located perfectly at the oceans edge with great access to the beach where you can enjoy all the activities one wishes to have with their families. I appreciate the fact that there are beach toys provided under the stairwell for when I bring my children with me. After a long day at the beach it's always nice to enjoy some time in the hot tub provided where I can relax and take in the view while feeling the ocean breeze on my face. Man times I have come here and enjoyed staying in just taking in the view from what this home has to offer, a breathtaking view from the living room by the rock fireplace makes this home so relaxing with the sound of the ocean waves. Venturing out to see the surrounding areas for shopping is always fun for me as Capitola, a small town filled with a variety of stores for clothing, toys, art, antiques, and food, is only a couple minutes of a drive or even a peaceful walk away from the beach house. all in all this is a beautiful and relaxing place to come and I look forward to many more visits with my friends and family here.

Fabulous place

Villa Vista was fabulous. Great views. Quiet (away from the boardwalk/downtown area) yet close enough that one was close to great restaurants and other enjoyable activities. Kerstin was great and responded right away to any questions I had. Highly recommended.
