"We had a group of 7 friends stay for 3 nights in this quiet country home tucked away in the mountains. It was a good spot for our large with beautiful landscape and great stargazing nights. "The house was spotless and a good location to get on highway. It was near the airport and could hear planes landing and taking off but did not hear planes after 11 p m. The owner lives in lower level and was very nice but did not speak much English and I do not speak Portuguese so checking in was a little complicated. I liked the location it was not as busy as Funchal and overlooked the mountains. The island is spectacular and would definitely recommend a stay on this island. "

"Hotel was centrally located in downtown Funchal. A five minute walk to the city centre. Room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the street. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of hot and cold options. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool deck on the rooftop was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. I would have preferred the pool bar to be open however it wasn’t and it was a very minor inconvenience to get the elevator down to the main bar on level 0. If you are using a rental car I would suggest you confirm a parking place with the hotel (20 euro per day) as parking is very limited in the area. I will definitely stay here again!!"
