"Our fanily of 3 had a wonderful stay at this Machico property. The kitchen had everything you need and the location a few minutes walk to the beach and good restaurants was really nice. We really enjoyed Secreta restaurant and highly recommend it. If you are renting a car, be advised the underground parking is challenging for larger vehicles, compact or subcompact is best. We would stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting Madeira. Thanks Marta for meeting us at the property and for your very responsive communication!"

"Villa Bahari (named Villa Moniz on the house itself) is located on the windy side of Madeira with beautiful ocean views and easy access to PR8 hike along Ponta Sao Lourenco and water excursions departing from the Quinta do Lorde marina, like snorkeling in summer or whale watching in winter. The home is exceptionally large with almost too much living space to enjoy - would be great for a large party. Due to the wind, we were never able to enjoy the outdoor kitchen or dining area, and the firepit had no fuel and seemed to be a potential fire hazard due to the high wind and proximity to dry brush all around, so we avoided that. When we got to the villa, there was a terrible odor like smelled like sewage and mildew. We thought maybe it was due to dry water traps in the showers/sinks/toilets, so tried to go around and run the water for a few seconds in each room. But there was no water in the house. After multiple calls back and forth with property management, they were able to get someone to come out and get the water resumed on a Saturday evening, thank goodness. When we’re finally able to run water to all of the traps (along with opening all of the windows) we were hoping the smell would dissipate but it really never did. You become “nose blind” after a bit but as soon as you leave and come back, it’s still there. We cannot recommend this house for that reason. "

"Having only stayed here for a brief period, arriving after midnight and departing in the morning, I must say the entire experience was truly delightful. The hotel, though rated as a three-star establishment, boasted a reception staff that provided a five-star level of service. The property itself was well-maintained, and the room was exceptionally spacious with lovely views. Furthermore, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast was quite tasty."

"The house is incredible - a house/hotel with gorgeous ocean views and access. As it is so near the park on the peninsula, we had expected to be able to walk there and learned it is a drive. While I understand the need, I was surprised by the level of security. We are simply not used to that where we live so that was alarming at first. Finally, the primary bathroom shower had hot water but many of the other baths did not have hot water - ever. Finally, we may have not been able to open a flu, but we used the outdoor grill and the smoke did not go up a chimney. Possibly it was due to weather conditions that evening. We met a furry grey cat who kept us company.( outside) He had a terrible sore on the side of his neck possibly from a broken abcess. Possibly he is a neighbors cat and they can be told? These are all not terribly important details - it is an incredible house with - perfect for a family gathering. "

"Next to a church - quite loud church bells many times in the day. Very steep slope to walk up from lower street. Did not use the jacuzzi so cannot rate that. Lots of good restaurants 5 minutes walk away, fresh seafood. Funchal airport quite close by - took us 15-20 minutes by uber. Accommodation was good, for a family we were very comfortable, did not do any cooking, just used the fridge, kettle and toaster, and the 1 pedestal fan was very useful and necessary too. "
