The breakfast was the best we have had in three weeks touring Japan lots of local specialities (soba, tempura grape leaves, interesting egg and tofu dishes etc) freshly prepared and of very good quality served in a top floor dining room looking out over the surrounding hills."

"For North American travellers, this hotel is much better than its rating on this site. My partner and I were in an executive level suite and I suspect that it was used for VIPs during the 1998 Olympics. Very spacious, comfortable, soaker tub and separate shower. Walking distance to restaurants, 5 minute drive to Nagano station (hotel offers free shuttle), and close to Zenkoji (temple). Beautiful property, excellent staff. Highly recommended. "
