Candlelight Inn & Suites Hwy 69 near McAlester

10/10 Excellent

"We were traveling back from Iowa to Texas and wanted to take a break in the drive. I was looking for a good spot to stop that wasn't too expensive and Candlelight Inn was perfect for what we needed. The room was clean, the A/C kept the room cool, the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet. Other reviews mentioned highway noise but I didn't hear that at all and I am pretty sensitive to noise at night; however, I did sleep on the side with the pond which is away from the road. I didnt interact with the staff very much but they seemed friendly from the few interactions I did have with them. I also didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on that. Based on my experience, if you are looking for a comfortable stay with a fair price, you can't beat Candlelight Inn."

SureStay Hotel by Best Western McAlester

8/10 Good

"The room was very clean. Even with the A/C was off in the room when I checked in, the room smelled great. The continental breakfast needs help. The honeybuns were stale. The apples were hard and not ripe. There was cereal but no milk. And the ice machine was out of order."
