Masama Lodge not operational
We arrived to find the establishment in total disrepair and deserted. We found a phone number on a black board to call and were informed that despite our confirmed and paid booking, the shalets were not in operation. We were forced to leave and find alternative accommodation. Do not book for this establishment until it is confirmed revamped and properly managed.

Masama, a place to camp
Masama was an experience. From the gentlemen, one of whom at least seemed to know of our booking, who met us on arrival to the fascinating rocks with plenty rock figs to Captain Kay's Retirement Centre bus and more... There was much to be fascinated by including the rock formations with so many rock figs that we were sure that the site is of cultural significance, dilapidated buildings that spoke of a happier time as "lodge", power to the campsites with lights in the ablutions and hot water on tap, and the low level cave behind the pub area. We hope that Masama can be renovated with pride, it's a very interesting spot
