Excellent and satisfactory experience at this place!

The cabin was very clean, comfortable, cozy! All my family enjoyed the time we spend there, we didn’t have any problem at all and the communication with the manager was very friendly, very nice place to stay!

We love the gated Shagbark community in Wears Valley because it has good access to lots of activities, grocery stores, etc. and the 3 bed/3 bath setup of this cabin was perfect for us and our twin grandsons.

Very accommodating

Although we did not actually get to stay in this cabin (our personal conflict with scheduling dates) the host was very accommodating & flexible with trying to work with us for our booking. We hope to stay here in a future visit to the area.

Great stay, great property!

We stayed for a week at the end of August. Cabin was great for our family of 3 (husband, 9 year old and myself) and another couple. So nicely laid out with everything just as described. Community is quiet and peaceful. Rod, the property owner, was friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to visit again!

The cabin was very nice. The arcade machine and pool table were nice touches. The Weber grill unexpected. The security guard at the gate where we entered the grounds was not helpful and almost rude. I did not have cell phone connectivity to look up the cabin code, and he was unable and unwilling to assist me. But I would come again, and just take the cell phone lack of coverage into acccount.

Nice cabin at great location

Nice cabin at great location of pigeon forge close to everything needed. Owner is very responsive and welcoming. We had a great stay and vacation. The only note is if you have infants and not great sleepers. Be mindful that property is a bit old to have squeaking flooring.

Great Cabin

We loved this cabin it was perfect for our whole family. The kids loved the game room. We did see a bear multiple nights in a row. The incline up the road before getting to the cabin was a little intimidating but there is another way in and out of there to avoid it. The owner is very friendly and responsive to any and all questions. Internet speed was great. No complaints

Heaven on Earth

What a week, welcomed by Mama Bear and 3 cubs on Monday morning and after swimming, shopping and resting they came back to see us off on Friday. The cabin was everything it was advertised to be and more! Will definitely contact Rod to rent again. From all eight of us THANK YOU!

Excellent accommodations for our multi-family vacation

We visited Rod's home as a group of 9, two families with 3 adults, 4 teenagers and 2 pre-teens. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for us and we have no complaints. We stayed very busy with activities in the area, so I wish that we could have spent more time enjoying the cabin. We did have a bear visit us while we were enjoying the back porch one evening, so that was really cool. Definitely would recommend this cabin to anyone looking.

Family vacation

This is just the 2nd vacation my dad has taken since I was a little kid. He is in his early 70's and enjoyed this trip. He really liked Cades Cove and the Motor Trail. The cabin was excellent for the 6 adults and 2 babies in our group. The owners were very attentive and friendly. Would recommend their cabin to anyone. Already looking forward to the next time I am able to come back!!!

Family Reunion Aftermath

We stopped by after a family reunion to spend time with a smaller family group and really enjoyed a restful and fun overnight stay. The place was better than the pics and it was so well designed to use all space. We loved it. This was the first time that our cleaning instructions just said enjoy yourself we will clean up after you. We cleaned up just because we didn’t have to as we were so impressed with the place.

We really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. We saw 2 bears while at the cabin which was really cool. The only things I would change is the upstairs shower runs out of hot water very quick and I didn’t like that to access the upstairs rooms you had to use different stair cases. I made me a little nervous to put my girls in one of the rooms since I would have go down one side and up another. If it is a group of just adults it is perfect. We had a great time and would definitely recommend to couples.

Great secluded cabin set in the mountains

We loved the cabin. The set up allows for privacy between guests/bedrooms. This was the most well stocked and equipped rental property I have ever stayed at. The owner goes out of the way to make it a true vacation for you. Plenty of paper products were supplied and the kitchen had more dishes and utensils than any rental I have used. Cabin was decorated for Christmas which was one of the reasons we chose it. The area is quaint and everything you think mountain living with a creek on property would be. We didn't get to see any bears (guess they were all sleeping for the winter) but squirrels and the largest woodpecker I have ever seen in my life did visit often. Just a note if it is important to you, there is zero cell service. You are at the mercy of wifi calling. The wifi is high speed and we had no issues using it for calls, etc. except when the power went out. It was a rainy week for most of our visit and we did lose power twice. It came back on pretty quickly so, no big issue for us.We will definitely stay here again. Directions into the cabin will send you up a steep, one lane incline. Scared me to death the first time and then we became masters. We also discovered an alternate route in and out but still used the shorter route/incline. I only mention it because we arrived late at night and it truly did scare me, but I promise it is easy to navigate and the cabin at the top is worth the ride! Thanks again to our gracious host for sharing your cabin!

Not bad...not what we expected

This cabin is a good cabin for a single family, had I got to see the reviews that were posted right before our stay and before our free cancelation...we would have canceled. We were a family of 11, 6 adults and 5 children. There was not comfortable seating for 11 people, the couch cushions did not fit properly, and there was not a leather recliner in the cabin as stated. The shower upstairs had no pressure and no hot water, they same with the little tub in the opposite upstairs bedroom. The listing describes this as a luxury cabin...it is very out dated and the photos need to be updated, they are very misleading, they had to be taken when they first listed the cabin. It definitely needs a deep clean my son in laws sunglasses feel behind the couch, tons of dirt and dust. With cooking at the cabin for every meal, definitely need a bigger place for trash, we had to haul off several bags to town because we ran out of room. The positives... the location is great, close to pigeon forge. The hot tub was very clean. The beds were comfortable. They did have a full size washer, dryer and dish washer, all in working order. We did get to see Bears...which always makes for a great vacation. The cabin was stocked although everything is showing its age. Not ideal for our family size. I have never been one to complain and did not contact the owner with issues, we just made it work. I feel for the amount of money I spent on this rental I was going to leave an honest review.

Dollywood/Pigeon Forge trip with family

We had a great time enjoying Dollywood and other attractions around Pigeon Forge. The cabin was a great distance—not too close to all of the congestion but close enough to be an easy drive. The cabin is in a beautiful location and well maintained. It had everything we needed, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, etc. The community pool was nice and not crowded. At the end of the day we liked relaxing in the hot tub. It was a nice property.
