An absolute gem of a hotel. Wonderful in all respects!

We stayed at The Cavendish Hotel on the Chatsworth Estate last October and loved the area and Chatsworth itself. The Devonshire Arms in Pilsey is also lovely, but more casual. We had a room in the farmhouse with a four poster bed and it was very comfortable. Note it sems every village in Derbyshire has a pub/inn called the Devonshire Arms so you DO need to specify Pilsey to get the correct one. I saved up for this trip for years, so decided I would splurge a few times on hotels and the Cavendish was one of them. I was not disappointed! The room was huge, beautiful, comfortable, with all amenities, clean and did I mention gorgeous? I had a lovely view, the light was excellent, the bed was heaven. Both restaurants in the hotel served excellent fare with outstanding customer service. The formal dining room was one of the prettiest rooms I have seen, although the chairs were created...

This place was spectacular!! We wish would could have stayed longer!! The cottage was beautifully done, the staff was so kind, and how cool to have sheep and cows right out our front door!! We highly recommend staying here and we will be back!!!

If you're seeking the quintessetial English county location, this is it. The scenery is beautiful. There is a wonderful pub and restaurant, where the food is actually exceptional. Our room was fantastic, clean and authentically English. Well-appointed with a comfortable 4-poster bed. The Bull Head Inn seems like a bit of a fairy tale, but is not at all contrived. Truly authentic English charm.

Absolutely beautiful and quaint, similar to what you see in period movies and tv shows. We would definitely stay here again. We recommend suite 1. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Room and en-suite were remodeled recently, keeping the old world charm with updated amenities.

The bathroom was really clean with quality fixtures. The room was beautiful and the bed comfortable. It's on an old farm on the outskirts of town so it was really quiet.

Beautiful quiet location with the most magnificent gardens. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom was exquisite. I would highly recommend this hotel.
