Beautiful snow country inn! Great accomodations, service, hospitality & meals! Nice that they have private Onsen baths. Quiet and lovely. Amazing experience.

Hotel staff was always very friendly and cordial. The hotel has a good ambience and the room was spacious and clean. The one negative was the archaic counsel and room lighting and ventilation controls adjacent to the bed. However, the hotel is convenient to the JR Niigata Station so getting around was relatively easy.

Nice and professional staff

Very very conveniently located hotel attached to Niigata station but very quiet and semi secluded. Rained the 4 days I was there but have no fear. Niigata station is massive with everything you need and then some. Fantastic. Didn’t deal with staff because of self check in at front desk. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

The hotel was great. Well located, clean and great facilities. The only issue was the long wait for the elevator. I had to wait 10 minutes in the rush hours.

Brilliant value for a one night stopover. Free car park, nice breakfast , friendly staff and walking distance to s shopping mall for food on the evening

I was rather intimidated by this listing considering how automotated the whole process is. It’s all done with thorough written instruction and an iPad at check-in/out. I felt like I was doing a scavenger hunt on The Amazing Race or something. Stay the course and read everything carefully. My stay was even better than I anticipated considering how in-human the process was. Clean, big, safe comfortable room. The walls are thin, so being quiet using headphones is most polite. 100 year house with modern kitchen, bath, toilet and bed/tatami sleeping area. Clean and cozy with the smell of Hinoki wood making our stay a memorable one.

Highly recommend the Hotel Sunroute Niigata. It is convenient to the train station with many bars, parking options and restaurants nearby. Google translate the street parking lots if you don't use the hotel garage. Some have deals with the hotel where you pay a lower rate for overnight parking. I had great service from the hotel staff who helped me with figuring that out and saving a lot of money. We really enjoyed our visit to Niigata and Hotel Sunroute was the right place for us!
