"If you had to choose word to describe this hotel, given there were many superlatives, I would say ‘inviting.’ The aesthetics are soothing yet modern. The lobby/bakery has an intimacy. Breakfast preparation was super (choose the eggs Benedict with salmon). I also learned of sound meditation at Ryosoku-in Temple from the Surroundings section on the TV screen - a highlight of seven day stay here."

"I enjoyed my stay in this hotel with one minor inconvenience to note. I did not get a room with breakfast for the sake of freedom. On the last day of my stay, I went to have breakfast close to closing time and the host opened the signup sheet and asked me for my room number. When I told him I didn’t already pay for breakfast, he pointed to the info sheet and told me that the restaurant is closing. I do not appreciate being treated differently than customers who already got breakfast with their room. I was going to pay on the spot. What is the difference? Other than that, room is excellent and spotless, staff is friendly, and the area is top notch."

"Right across the street from the Nijo station... so it was perfect to catch the train wherever you wanted to go. Loved the shower. My room was on the smaller side but that was fine with us. We were out and about most of the days anyway. I enjoyed the public bath facilities ( separate one for men and women). The water had to be 105 degrees Fahrenheit, it was great. It was relaxing after a day full of walking. My bed was a little hard but I'm very spoiled in my Purple bed at home. Plenty of items for breakfast. Anyway, great location, location, location. "
