"I booked a room in advance. The description of the room was appealing. When I entered late in the evening nobody was at the desk. I knocked on the desk and spoke but there was no reply. I spoke a little louder, still no reply. So I shouted but still no reply. Then a hotel employee appeared and complained that I should not be shouting. I signed in and went to the room. It had a disgusting smell, really nasty. There was a commercial fan on the floor that appeared to be designed to sit on the floor which had no apparent beneficial effect. The amenities listed on the website were not present. No TV, no coffee maker, no iron, no safe, no hairdryer, no refrigerator. There was a cigarette butt in the toilet bowl. The toilet flushed just fine but the water ran continuously. Some of the rooms appeared to have permanent residents. I went back to the desk and asked if another room might be available that was in better condition. I was told “No, they are all the same.” The description on the website might have been accurate 20 or 30 years ago, but the current conditions do not match what is listed. The clerk gave me paperwork to request a refund. I have not acted on this yet. Expedia should not list this property and should not take reservations. I called about 15 hotels in the downtown area and they were all booked solid. I ended up staying at a hotel with a bad reputation that was just barely adequate but was a major improvement over the Baymont."

"After checking into the room I was washing up and noticed it was dirty behind the faucet, I looked closer and saw an old dried up contact lens. I went and told the front desk and they called house keeping. I decided I’d go for a walk. I was gone for almost 2 hours and when I got back the room still hadn’t been cleaned. I went to the front desk again and complained. One of the ladies there went up and personally cleaned it. I then went to the bar and ordered a rare ribeye and it came out well done, they sent it back and when I got it again it was closer to raw than rare. Kitchen manager came out and talked with me and he made it right. I normally don’t complain but for this price of room and steak my expectations were higher than what I received. Front desk ladies, bartenders and managers of the bar/kitchen were all super friendly and polite. If ever in Lubbock again I will give it another shot."

"This charming 1-bedroom house was perfect for us. The house is perfect for a couple. The fact that the house has 2 yard spaces is a bonus. The large side yard was perfect for our dogs to roam and play without any worries. The kitchen was stocked with essential items to cook meals instead of relying on takeout. Laundry facilities were a bonus, along with inside garage parking, suitable for a small car or SUV - a truck will not fit - too tall. No worries, the driveway was big enough and more than sufficient for parking. This was a great little gem of a property to find. We'll stay again for sure. "

"Room was very nice and clean. I do wish they had usb connectors in the lamps for charging devices. We have stayed here before and came back because it was a great experience. This time was not and we probably will not book here again. Check in lady was very nice, however she didn’t tell us where elevators were for our room nor where breakfast was served. Not a big deal but most hotels will let you know where to go. Breakfast was alright. I said good morning to several employees on the way, front desk and in dining area and was ignored. The omelet was good, except I had to eat my husbands because mine was not what I ordered. Also, the gentleman making them was not friendly not helpful. A lady in the dining that was around the entrance never asked anyone for tickets (that we witnessed) except a family that was clearly Hispanic and didn’t speak much English. The night before, my husband was waiting for me downstairs and just wandering around and was approached by a man very aggressively asking if he needed something and told him he couldn’t be in that area. He was just walking around! Can’t say we have ever experienced being told that before. He wasn’t anywhere that would warrant being treated that way. We noticed the area across the street was a bit sketchy so maybe that’s why but a hotel should Never treat their guests like that. I used to work for Hilton for many years and have a lot of experience in the hospitality industry and this was just unsatisfactory treatment. "

"Everything was good except one tenant who obviously lives in room 228 was loud and his guests were unruly all night. Maybe he works for the motel but…."
