"This beautiful hotel is an homage to the craftsmanship of the past. It is a welcomed glimpse into the past where beauty and details were as important as function. The lobby is a grand first impression. The rooms have very high ceilings that give a feeling of openness in the rooms. The beds are very comfortable, but a little small for two adults. The rooms have a coffee maker and lots of little extras like makeup remover and a shower cap. We enjoyed our stay back somewhere in time."

"The hotel was nicely renovated but I have a big problem with the sink being in the foyer. Had to prop the bathroom door up against one of the beds to keep it open to have more room with the toilet. A little cluster phobic. The curtains block the air conditioner and ‘cool’ the windows but not the room. Had to prop up the curtains during the night to cool the room. If they shorten the curtains this would be an easy fix. We were the first down for breakfast at 0615. The waffle mix ran out after making the first one, the eggs and sausage were cold. Seems they never heated up the serving trays ahead of time. Could not find someone to tell but when we checked out I told the manager. The ‘up side’, the beds were very comfortable and overall room was pleasant."

"Truly beautiful place for walks, sitting by the creek, great fire pit and the cabin was amazing. My favorite place was the screened in porch listening to the creek. Our host Laura was exceptional, We will be back."

"We loved the real log cabin experience. The bedrooms were nice and plenty of beds to choose from. I missed the detail that there is no AC! Didn't know it until we arrived, but at night we were ok with fans, just a bit warmer than we would choose to be. When you're at the cabin, there is no cell service or WiFi. The creek makes a beautiful sound, and with all the windows open, you can hear it easily. The cabin has a distinct barn wood smell which took me back to my childhood, playing in my parents' barns. The well water does have the sulfur smell, which isn't too bad for me, but my son & husband had a hard time with it. Also very little water pressure, a common well water issue. Large selection of DVDs, books, and games.I appreciated the antique decor, and reading the history of the cabin in the guest book. Overall nice stay."

"This was our 4th time booking a stay at this beautiful welcoming cabin. If seeking a place of comfort and serenity, Painted Rock cabin is the place to be. We especially enjoyed the soothing sounds of the rapids and the comforting gentle breezes when relaxing on the wrap around porch watching the wildlife. During this stay we were blessed to see a deer cautiously making her way across the river. We were also fortunate to observe a curious baby black cub as he/she explored the area surrounding the cabin while mother bear foraged for food. What a delight! Every stay has proved to be better than the last! With all said, we definitely be returning in the near future."
