"We had a wonderful stay at Quinte Verde Sintra. Hotel (or Bed and Breakfast?) grounds are wonderful and you can see the Moorish Castle from the pool - breathtaking views!
You do need a car though or Uber (or both if you are not comfortable driving around the Sintra palaces in narrow and busy streets).

A victim of it's own success. Crammed with tourists. Driving is only for the brave with tiny roads that confuse the GPS, virtually no parking and a crazy one way system. The roads were designed for horses and carts. Sintra is fabulous.

Sintra is over-touristed. Traffic, buses, Pena Palace (tickets required), and the tiny central area can be packed. It's a lovely historic town doing its best to accommodate visitors, but private vehicles not welcome. Best to train or Uber from Lisbon

Most people day trip from Lisbon to Sintra to see the palaces but we felt there is so much to see, staying was the best choice. We could have easily spent one or two more days there. For us, this was a great choice!

This is a very busy little place and getting out of the station you are mobbed by your guides/drivers etc making it difficult to walk with a suitcase! Charming place well worth visiting.

"We had a fantastic week’s holiday in Sintra. The hotel was perfectly located for a stroll into town and easy access the great restaurants, cafes and the sights of Sintra. Brill ice cream from Mica’s just outside the hotel. Easy train ride to Lisbon and the beach for day trips.

"The hotel is truly as you see it in the images! The pool is massive and the beach is wonderful. We stayed with our 11&14year olds and they thought the location was awesome, and loved the breakfast. The room we had was spacious and perfect for all of us! You can easily pop to restaurants and the grocery store (we had a car), and the views from every space are gorgeous!"
