"We loved our stay at umaya. The beach is awesome. The whole pool area/chairs/dock and set up are awesome too. So great that you can also borrow Kayaks and paddle boards (which we did) to have morning paddles when the ocean is calmer. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff helpful and accommodating and the food at the hotel was good as well. There are also many restaurants and a supermarket (10 min drive) close to umaya without having to always make the drive into Placencia town (about 20/25mins) Oh those speed bumps! We would for sure come back to umaya again as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "

"Perfect home set on the perfect beach. Hosts were super helpful and there when you needed them, otherwise it was very private. The private beach bar is key for hanging out (why would you ever want to be inside in Belize?) and the dedicated dock is wonderful for morning coffee and taking in the beautiful Caribbean. Beds were comfortable and the house has everything you need. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here, 10 stars! "Property was just as pictured and described down to every last detail. We were a group of three families (6 adults and 4 children) and having the whole house was perfect for our group. The morning grounds crew kept the outdoor space impeccable making that a great area to spend our days. I would note that there is a lot of construction in the immediate area as the small peninsula the house is on is being developed. This is of course no fault to the owners but it did make for quite a bit of construction noise during the day in an otherwise very tranquil part of the town. We used Chef Aaron for the majority of our meals and that worked well so that we didn’t have to cook and grocery shop or eat out every meal. The hosts and house manager were always immediately available and all communications were prompt. "
