"We had a fabulous stay at Throstle nest farm. The stone building is beautiful and so are the views. Close to plenty of places to eat. Our family room was spacious and well equipped, with en-suite bathroom. The lounge/ dining room has a huge inglenook fireplace and two huge comfy sofas. Tea & coffee you can help yourself to as well as in the rooms. There was a good selection for breakfast and it was lovely. The staff were lovely and very helpful, regarding places to eat etc. We will definitely be back."

"Absolutely lovely stay at The Lister Arms. Staff are amazing and the reason it's so good. They are helpful and friendly. The only very small downside is the cost. A little overpriced but otherwise beautiful. Couldn't really fault anything at all. The food was to die for."

"Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast choices were very good and plentiful. However the room was very dated and in need of renovation and had a funny smell when you walked in. The bedroom lacked any real style - blind needed replacing and the bathroom reminded us of a prison bathroom (all grey in colour)and stuck in the 80s with some broken fixtures so rather disappointing. The newly refurbished dining room looked good though!"

"We stayed here on our Dales Way walk. The food was amazing. We stayed in the Manor House in one of the 2+2 rooms. Very cosy, clean and well appointed. Great dinner and equally yummy breakfast. Staff were all A1. Thanks"

"It’s difficult, because I can understand the wide range of reviews. The fact that there are no staff on site, coupled with an unusual door access system, makes thinking of this as a hotel (never mind the star rating) somewhat of a stretch. Having said that, a mobile number was provided if needed. Our room was clean (although somewhat dated) and had all the equipment we expected. One big issue that we only subsequently learned about was that some of the rooms did not have an en suite. Ours did (with a much-appreciated heated towel rail), but I would have been very annoyed if we had been allocated a room without. Make sure of your room number! The location is excellent. Parking is available, but limited, so don’t be the last to arrive. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and felt we had good value for money."
