"I have family in Scotland and travel there 2 or 3 times a year. My partner and i normally do it in one hit. 10 hours including stops. Decided to break the journey and spend a night in Tebay. What a great decision, Apart from breaking up the journey. We received a warm welcome, lovely spacious room. Had a frw relaxing drinks in the bar serving locally sourced beer and gins. Had a really nice dinner followed by a night cap and a great nights sleep. Brekkie was very nice also. Staff were excellent, polite, professional and warm. The location was beautiful with wonderful scenery. Will definitely be calling again next time i do this trip. "

"Landlady was amazing. I arrived in a sorry state coming off the Pennine way. An hour later showered and fed I was on my way into BC in a taxi she organised. Room was clean and the whole place had been been repainted and felt looked after. "

"Very friendly staff and the hotel had a pool and sauna. The pool was being used at the time we were there as a training venue for children and we just used the sauna and jacuzzi. The room was very clean with lovely fresh towels with tea coffee making equipment. We never had anything to eat in the hotel but had a quiet drink in the lounge at the end of the evening, overall a nice hotel"

"Our check-in to Middle House was quick and efficient, in spite of a good number of people being in the bar and gardens for an event. The hotel has a modern feel but with some lovely traditional furniture here and there. The owner told us that some refurbishments were still in progress, with the ensuite bathrooms still to be completed. However, the ensuite for our bedroom was spacious and very clean. Just a few more hooks or rails to hang towels on would be useful. The bedroom was also spacious and from what we saw, the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Meals were nicely cooked and presented, with good choices available. Evening meals were reasonably priced and there are a few well-kept Yorkshire real ales on the bar. The outdoor seating area is very pleasant and we were pleased to be able to park at the back of the hotel. Middle House is very convenient for countryside walks to beautiful waterfalls. We would stay there again. "
