"The staff were life-savers! They are all so friendly. All speak English very well. Check in is different from an American chain so plan ahead to be in hotel restaurant by 20:00, or make easy arrangements. The room was so quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was so traditional. I loved it. I've missed Kalmar and it was good to make a visit back and stay at this lovely place. "

"Wonderful hotel in a great location just down the street from Kalmar Castle and the train station. Shops and restaurants within a five minute walk. Room was clean, comfortable, cozy, and nicely appointed. Warm breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing, very friendly and hospitable. I can’t emphasize enough how welcoming the staff was. I will definitely be staying at Slottshottelet next time I visit Kalmar. It truly felt like a home away from home."

"One of our rooms had no curtain (r 202?). One room had no hangers (r 201?). Shower head was strange and put out very little water but at the same time, very hard (r 201?). Doors were WAY to HEAVY. Pool was too cold. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good."
