"We have stayed at this appartment for a weekend and were welcomed by a friendly host that made us feel comfortable immediately. "Top Unterkunft, sehr nette Wirtin. Man war sofort im Relaxmodus.Auch der Hund fühlte sich wohl. Wichtig zu wissen ist aber, dass wir unseren Labrador die steile schmale Treppe hoch- und runter tragen mussten, weil er sich nicht traute. Außerdem habe ich in der Beschreibung übersehen, dass es nur eine Mikrowelle, keinen Herd, gibt. Darauf sollte man sich einstellen. Der Strand in 2km Entfernung war perfekt mit Hund.Insgesamt gerne wieder. "

"Really nice boutique-feel hotel. My room was huge, very clean and comfy bed. I enjoyed the self-service coffee/snack/breakfast offering and the lounge it was served in was a nice place to sit and read. Staff were very helpful and recommended some places for me to eat and drink as a solo diner."

"Without exception all employees were extremely pleasant and helpful. The person working security on the initial night of our 4 night stay went beyond the norm to show us to our room at midnight. She even suggested a safe place for our bicycles and helped us carry them. The next day Frank who is one of the first people a visitor encounters also went above and beyond by obtaining a luggage cart and loading our very heavy suitcase on it. All done with a cheerfullness that belies the effort it required. Finally, Gideon was a wonderful ambassador for the hotel. The visit was so exceptional that even though there are many other properties at which to stay in Rotterdam, the S.S. Rotterdam hotel will be my choice in the future."

"Awful experience. I booked this hotel based on the reviews, but I was completely misled. I ended up paying €150 for parking for less than three days because the staff were unable to help with parking at the hotel, despite parking being listed as one of the booking features. There was no daily water replenishment — only two tiny 200ml bottles provided for the entire stay. The breakfast was disappointing, and honestly, the price I paid did not reflect the experience that was advertised at all. I have stayed in many hotels, but this was by far the worst 4-star hotel I have experienced. I would never recommend it, nor would I ever return. The room was cold even with the heating turned on, and the hot water in the shower was temperamental. I booked the executive suite, but there was nothing “executive” about it. The carpet was visibly dirty, and the TV remote was filthy. The only positive part of the experience was that the staff were friendly and respectful, even though they were unable to resolve the issues during my stay."

"Location is good, close to Markthal, shopping street. Staff is helpful. Hotel is old and needs restoration like scratch marks on window pane and the rubber caulking is peeling off. Don't know what happened that Friday night. It seems cars were racing against each other. There were honking, backfiring, people shouting, yelling and went on till about 2am."
