"There is no parking … How you can advertise bumping up a high kerb onto the pavement to park is wrong , we would not of booked this property … Only suitable for 2 people not 4 Needs a good deep clean "

"Immaculate and beautiful cottage (we stayed in Barley) with all home comforts. Access to a gorgeous swimming pool and gardens. The location in the hamlet of Water Newton is stunning and gorgeous walks through the countryside are abundant. This isn’t a conventional self catering arrangement because the owners live on site and the cottages have a share with permanent residents. "Had a lovely 2 night stay in this lovely cottage, set in a lovely friendly village with a great pub within walking distance from the cottage.The owner left us a lovely welcome pack for us and our 2 cocker spaniels which was greatly appreciated .Would definitely recommend, and we will definitely come back."

"The cottage was spotless on arrival, everything we needed was there fiona met us on arrival & explained everything to us & answered any questions that we had. Would definitely recommend staying in this cottage, we will definitely be back as we loved the quietness staying here"

"Nicely put together house. Handy for Oakham town centre, shops, pubs etc. 20 mins to Burghley House. Comfy beds. However, please do provide guests with a bit more info about what’s what in the house…A long mirror in the double room and a loo brush in the bathroom would be useful additions"

"This cottage is lovely and we were so pleased to be presented with some freshly baked bread, fresh eggs and other things. The location is perfect for exploring and all villages etc are so close. Food in surrounding villages excellent, particularly the fox and the Wheatsheaf."

"Front door is 5 yards from busy A43. Contacted owner for key code Friday am for Friday stay did not reply till 14.21 Sunday. Builders next door Hammering just after 7 Saturday and Monday. Cover on front bed filthy. Toilet seat not attached correctly. No logs provided for log burner or tools. Welcome pack not as advertised no wine no milk no eggs no crisps small loaf. Outside area no parasols cushions left outside dirty and cigarette burn, and a broken chair. Broken glass in cupboard. Very noisy...

Rushton Hall Hotel & SPA

10/10 Excellent

"We loved our stay at Rushton Hall and will be returning as soon as we can. The building itself is extremely beautiful and you feel like you’re stepping into history. The grounds are lovely for a walk (although would be nice to have more outside lighting at night, as it was very dark trying to walk around after dinner). The spa has excellent facilities - the swimming pool is warm (which is rare!) with a comfy hot jacuzzi and dry and wet sauna/steam rooms, and plenty of beds around the swimming pool. We stayed in the Cedar room - The bedroom was spacious and comfy, with a large bed, smart TV and great coffee facilities. The bathroom has a large power-shower, and a bath with its own TV. The only thing that would’ve made it better would be to have a small fridge with cold drinks. The restaurant and bar were great with an excellent breakfast. Overall it was a fantastic stay, and we are excited to return! "
