"This place is an absolute gem. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and the bed was huge and really comfortable. There were plenty of teas and coffees and some nice biscuits provided and a bottle of water, the bathroom had hand wash, shampoo, conditioner and body wash in, the food both at dinner and breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious, the parking was in a locked garage round the back, we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you to all there 💕"

"a lovely property with a bus stop outside. Breakfast was great the bar and its staff were lovely. Bedroom was in the attic which was nice with plenty of refreshments and bathroom products. would stay again"

"We had an amazing stay at The Wellington. The staff were so friendly, we ate both dinner and breakfast at the pub and the food was out of this world good!! Perfect stay, couldn't recommend more!"

"Lovely little place to stay near longleat zoo , will advise to stay at the side of the pub as they have a garage on other side of the road , very bright lights and they come through the blinds. otherwise all good breakfast was good "

"From the moment we entered Friendliness was the Name of the Game! Tasha showed us to our room and told us everything we needed to know. The room was nice, large, well renovated, bed was very comfortable. We went to eat in the dining room for our evening meal which was delicious. "This was truly an “Pub with and Inn” experience. The Cat in the Custard is the hub of this small Cotswold village, so we felt like travelers in time. Our room was in the eaves and very tiny so we moved to a larger one - both were lovely. The food is very good, and the breakfast hot and plentiful. "

"this was a stop off for the start of our holiday, we were meant to be going to Salisbury races, but it was abandoned due to heavy rain, never the less it did not stop us enjoying our stay at this beautiful hotel, we had an amazing stay and it was very clean and all the staff were extremely polite and pleasant."

"A nice stay when in the area. The food is good, as are the team. I did hear some locals moaning about both, however that isn't my experience at all. The rooms are good, I had a different room this time and it's probably due for some tlc, however it was serviceable and the bed was comfy etc. The Bowl has a nice feel in a lovely location - it was a stunning evening to sit outside and dine whilst reading a book - with the bell ringing practise starting in the evening. "

"This review is really about my getting away for a break and to be allowed to just chill out. I did not require super attentive service or astonishing presentation of food, or attention to detail and so if these were missing it did not affect my stay. I am very grateful for the tolerance of the staff when I managed to get back way after midnight."

"Ok, first up: The Dark Horse is a (quirky, friendly, lively) pub on a main road, so if you’re looking for a tranquil escape this ain’t it. But that, and the location (15 mins to the city centre on the bus, which comes about every five minutes) made it ideal for my overnight stay - and the lovely lady who showed me to my room even offered earplugs (I always travel with my own, so no need, and I slept like a baby even though it was Friday night and the bar was open til 2am). "A business trip, so didn’t actually as much time in the hotel as I’d have liked in order to explore it. But the breakfast experience and interactions with the staff were all really good. Very comfortable room, surprised there were no USB sockets - but that tiny detail aside - very happy. The parking option is ideal. Located right next to a multi-level car park, once you register your car at check-in, the access to come and go is automatic, no faffing around and there’s access from the car park directly to the hotel, so no lugging bags through inclement weather. The pricing for this hotel is generally above what I pay for work trips, and in this case I’d cashed some point to get a better price. Will be giving it serious consideration next time I’m in Bristol."
